Right-click a commit, a multi-commit selection, or the uncommitted WIP row and choose AI actions…, press Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + A, or click AI actions in Review all / the working-changes view. The popup asks an in-app agent to read those revisions and write something about them. Review all and the working-changes button start on Short description; the menus start on Implementation comment.
The agent runs in the repository and uses read-only git. GitLane never
ships a diff over IPC.
When commits are picked together with the WIP row, the agent reads that as one span ending at the working tree — the same merged diff Review all opens — rather than the commits and the uncommitted changes as two separate reads.
What it can write
Pick a command, then Run (Cmd/Ctrl + Enter). The shipped set:

Settings → Prompts → AI actions is that same list: disable a built-in to hide it, reorder, or Add command with your own title and prompt. Custom prompt stays a one-shot field at run time.
If the current branch name carries a ticket key, it is passed to every command (not only Implementation comment).
An extra field on the toolbar adds a note at run time (always, including Custom). The same agent picker as Draft / Describe sits in the header, so you can switch model or effort without leaving the popup.
After it finishes
The result fills the pane. Switch Formatted (renders Markdown) / Raw, or Edit the text in place.
- Copy puts it on the clipboard (the button reads Copied for a moment, then returns).
- Post to PR appears when the current branch has an open pull request, and adds the text as a comment.
- Show prompt reveals the stored instruction; Edit in Settings jumps to Settings → Prompts.
Stop ends a run in progress — the adapter process and everything it started.
Editing the prompts
Settings → Prompts → AI actions is the same list as the picker. Expand a row to edit its title and prompt. Save keeps it, Cancel discards it. Built-ins can be reset to the shipped text (they cannot be deleted). Your own commands can be deleted. Custom prompt is typed at run time and is not stored.
The same panel holds the shared commit-message instruction (Draft, Improve, and Commit with agent) as a row in the same style — always on, with no enable switch.
